My Favorite Beauty Products of 2011

I've been thinking about what I'd consider my favorite products from 2011 off and on for the past couple weeks.  These items I would recommend to other people and repurchase.  I'm sure I'll have left some off this list and may update it later. :)

Eye primer
LORAC Behind the Scenes Eye Primer
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
 - I've found these perform the same for me and when applied properly (and not having any moisturizer on lids) with not too much eyeshadow I can get crease-free shadow for 10-12 hours; LORAC wins out just because it's a bit less expensive

Eyeliner
Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Trio
Urban Decay 24/7 Liner*
 - For lasting power, I prefer the Physicians Formula but the Urban Decay applies very easily (not sold that they are worth the high price, would recommend buying in the value travel kits)

Eyeshadow
Urban Decay NAKED palette
LORAC 3D Multiplex Eyeshadow palette
Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette
 - Not a huge surprise but the last two have red-brown/teal flash duochrome similar to MAC Club, I'm a big fan of that type of shadow and both of the formulas are good, NAKED is an easy warm neutral option with a great formula as well

Foundation/Concealer
MAKE UP FOR EVER Face & Body
Revlon PhotoReady Concealer
 - Over the year I've used these the most, both for the same reason - they are moist enough to not show any dry flakes (or only minimally) and they don't break me out; the MUFE is incredibly easy to work with due to the sheer coverage and thin formula

Powder
MAC Mineralized Skin Finish Natural in Light
CARGO blu_ray powder in #10
 - I can use these either as powder foundation or with a lighter hand to set my foundation, both give a nice soft focus finish without looking powdery

Blush
Urban Decay Afterglow Blush in Score*
Milani Minerals Blush in Luminous
CARGO blush in Mediterranean
Maybelline Dream Mousse blush in Pink Frosting
 - I love blushes and am a big fan of the pink or peach with gold shimmer, the CARGO gives a great natural berry flush when applied with a very light hand, the mousse blush blends so easily and is a cute pink with some silver shimmer

Highlighter
LORAC Perfectly Lit in Spotlight
NARS Albatross
MAC Cream Color Base in Pearl
Physicians Formula Happy Boosters Translucent
 - Love highlighters - another opportunity for gold shimmer!  Spotlight is an interesting powder, it's sort of beige toned and is darker than my skin but just gives me a warm highlight, the MAC base does catch on dry skin but other than that it gives an amazing dewy sheen

Lip Balm/Treatment
Jack Black lip balm
Fusion Beauty Lip Fusion XL*
- The Jack Black balm is thick, long lasting and can keep my lips from peeling under almost any lip product (which is quite a feat!), I use the Lip Fusion overnight and in the morning - it does really plump up and keep moisturized without the sting and lasts as long as I can feel the product on lips (doesn't last the claimed period of time for me)

Lipstick/Lip Gloss
L'Oreal Colour Riche in Fairest Nude
Rimmel Lasting Finish in Airy Fairy
MAC Sheen Supreme in Can't Get Enough
 - My go-to warm shades that aren't too dark for my comfort zone with comfortable formulas, couldn't think of a favorite lip gloss to be honest!

Mascara
 - I didn't have any favorites - several I couldn't stand, had some I liked fine such as the CoverGirl Lash Blash Volume but nothing that wowed me

Skincare
Shiseido Benefiance Eye Cream
Alpha Hydrox 10% Glycolic Acid Lotion
 - Not including my prescriptions which have been a game changer, my acne is basically completely controlled with the those and the glycolic acid lotion; the Shiseido Benefiance is the only thing I've tried that has moisturized my under eye area enough to use concealer without it catching on my chronic dry spots, amazing - I didn't want to pay the price for it, but it's completely worth it for me!

*Items I would repurchase but not at full price
