New L'Oreal Goodies, Infallible Shadow and Gel/Cream Liner

I picked up a couple things from Walgreens since I had two manufacturer's coupons and it was buy one get one 50% off.  I put my eye makeup on at 6:30 AM and took pictures around 8:30 PM today, without touch-ups (I did however remove face makeup and apply some powder and blush).

I had been wanting to try out the Infallible single shadows since they came out, they have a loosely pressed pigment type texture that feels creamy swatching with your fingers.  I grabbed Pink Sapphire, easy shade to wear over the lid into the crease; I applied it with my fingers today.

Swatched heavily on the left and blended out a bit on the right.

I'm really surprised at the longevity of this shadow, it hadn't faded or creased after 14 hours.  I wore it over the LORAC Behind the Scenes primer which is my regular primer.  Most shadows I have will fade a bit by that time.  Even when swatching on my inner arm pictured above, it's been 4 hours and rubbed against clothing and still is very visible.  In my experience, that's really unusual!  Most light colored swatches will rub off in 15 minutes in that spot.

To go with the shadow, I also bought a L'Oreal Infallible Lacquer Liner in Espresso, a gel/cream liner that comes with its own brush.  I don't have any deep brown gel liners, so I figured I'd give this one a go.

It's very nicely pigmented, a good dark shade of neutral brown and the brush it comes with is fairly easy to work with.  Definitely not difficult to get a precise line, I just find this shape to be a little harder to work with when layering a thicker line as it can rub off some of the liner.  I'm sure this is just my inability to use the brush the best way though.

Overall quite happy with the purchase!  I'm intrigued by the shadow formula and might need to pick another one up if I can find a color that's unique to my collection.

  1. Wow! I haven't seen this eyshadow shade in person yet and it is just so gorgeous on your with your eyes and skintone! Love it! I have not yet tried that liner yet, so I may have to check it out since my Loreal HIP one dried out and I didn't really care for the brown color it was (the one you got looks more wearable).
Great post! Do you have a post up about the LORAC lip gloss you are wearing? I've been intrigued by LORAC lately and am interested in their glosses! :)

    1. Thanks! I don't have a post about the LORAC lip gloss, I haven't worn it much. I had gotten the jewelry box Bejeweled Day to Night set on hautelook which came with what's labeled as "high shine" glosses, Rose and Peach. I keep them at my makeup desk and tend to slap them on before I head out to work (but don't take them with me). Both are easy to wear shades, the shine really gives that fullness without a wet look and doesn't accentuate lip lines from frost. It's a comfortable formula, not sticky. I'm not sure if this is a formula they carry now or not. In general, I am a fan of LORAC products though. Have really enjoyed their shadows, luminizer, blu_ray HD pressed powder and these glosses. :)
