Maybelline EyeStudio Quad in Legendary Lilac Swatches, Review, Look

As you might know, my favorite color is purple. I realized this back some years ago when I looked in my closet and realized how much I have is purple. Unfortunately, purple seems a difficult color to do in makeup. Even brands known for their pigmentation in liners, such as Urban Decay, often have lackluster purples. Shadows are a little better in general, but still it's pretty common for lousy color payoff.

I looked at the swatches on Temptalia here for this palette which were not great, but I loved the colors and since I'm so fair I figured the lighter colors would still work okay for me.

The swatches don't look spectacular either, but I love this palette on my eyes. The lightest shade is a white with a bit of light lilac shimmer, the second and third shades both have gold microglitter/shimmer - one is a lighter pink lilac with the other a more light blue purple, the deepest shade is a more plummy burgundy purple.

It definitely worked better over a primer, but that's something I use regularly anyway. There can be a little fallout from the two shades with microglitter, but the particles are so small it's not very noticeable anyway. For this look I used the pink lilac over the lids, the white shade in the inner corners, the light blue purple on my lower lash line and the plummy burgundy in the crease. Love!

Have you tried this quad out? How about any of the other Maybelline EyeStudio quads? The other one I have in Mythical Mermaid (LE but there's a comparable permanent palette called Gutsy Green) I love as well, here's a quite old post with a FOTD! I also have a look/tutorial on Youtube here using Mythical Mermaid, if you're interested. :) Thanks for stopping by!
